Milind Kandlikar

MILIND KANDLIKAR, BTech, MS, PhD, is Professor (and past Director) at the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability, with a cross-appointment at the School of Public Policy and Global Affairs at UBC. He teaches courses on climate science and policy and the role of science and technology in sustainability transitions. Over the past three decades, he has worked on assessing climate policy in an integrated manner by combining science, economics and policy. His current work focuses on the transition to a low carbon economy in both industrialized and emerging economies and on the use of new analytical methods to better characterize the impacts of climate change.

He has played an advisory role to policymakers around the world and is a four-time contributor to the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
