Tiffany Timbers, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Statistics and a Co-Director of UBC’s Master of Data Science program at the Vancouver campus. In these roles, she teaches and develops curriculum around the responsible application of data science to solve real-world problems. One of her favourite courses to teach is a graduate course on collaborative software development, which focuses on creating R and Python packages with modern tools and workflows.
Her books include Python Packages, which is aimed at intermediate Python users who want to package up and share their code with collaborators and the wider Python community, co-authored with Tomas Beuzen. She has been recently awarded with the 2023 Early Career Educators Award from the Statistics Society of Canada.
