If you can ask and answer simple questions about yourself, your interests and your work, Spanish Beginner 2 is the right choice. Add to your base of vocabulary and expressions to communicate in everyday situations involving travel, food, shopping, family and business. Continue to improve your pronunciation and express preferences.
This immersive course focuses on oral communication skills and uses meaningful scenarios (e.g., asking for directions) to help you use the language in authentic situations. Practise your new Spanish skills and interact with your classmates in a comfortable atmosphere. Between classes, you can practise your skills using online resources chosen by your instructor.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- ask for and give directions
- express feelings
- show concern for others
- describe one’s family
- express what you must do or what you feel like doing
- talk about aches and pains
- express likes and dislikes, tastes, preferences and interests
- talk about simple recipes

How am I Assessed?
This is a non-credit course without letter or numerical grades. You receive verbal feedback on your conversation and grammar skills from your instructor during class. Written homework is typically corrected in class. Some lesson modules may include quizzes.
Technology Requirements
You’ll need access to a laptop or desktop computer or tablet, an email account, and internet access and an up-to-date web browser. For real-time classes, you’ll also need access to a video camera and microphone.
