Cloud and Technology Transformation

The certificate program offers several different learning pathways and consists of five to six courses total. Four courses are required, and final two courses are determined by which of the learning pathway options you select.

Learners who have already completed the existing UBC Micro-certificate in Cloud Transformation and Technology Infrastructure Strategy and the UBC Micro-certificate in AI Cloud Solutions Strategy can apply the credentials to ladder into the UBC Certificate in Cloud and Technology Transformation.

Required

The new UBC Certificate in Cloud and Technology Transformation is built on two existing micro-certificates and their respective courses:

Elective

To qualify for the certificate learners must complete a minimum of 190 learning hours. There are five learning pathway options to complete the certificate:

Learning Pathway Option 1

This non-technical learning pathway focuses on how to create a secure online environment. Learners will receive essential training in how to identify digital risks and offensive cybersecurity techniques.

Learning Pathway Option 2

This non-technical learning pathway focuses on building secure cloud solutions using AWS storage services. Learners will explore the architectural principles of AWS cloud solutions and the fundamentals of cybersecurity.

Learning Pathway Option 3

This non-technical course will equip learners with a comprehensive understanding of AI and its presence in everyday lives covering fundamental concepts of AI systems and their applications in problem-solving, and the influence of AI on both the workforce and society to establish a framework of ethical standards that address concerns surrounding bias, accountability, transparency and human rights.

Learning Pathway Option 4

This technical learning pathway is for learners seeking to build a career with the most in-demand ethical hacking certification in the world, Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH®). Leaners are equipped with the skills needed to uncover vulnerabilities and secure systems, networks, applications, databases and critical data from malicious hackers. Tuition includes Certified Ethical Hacking exam fee and access to weekly live sessions with a facilitator.

Learning Pathway Option 5

This technical learning pathway provides an in-depth look at the components of AWS storage services and how to build AWS cloud infrastructure. Learners will gain practical knowledge in how to design secure, high-performing and cost-efficient cloud systems.

**Ethical Hacking Certification Training course is facilitator supported with weekly live Question and Answer sessions with Subject Matter Expert (SME).

How am I Assessed?

You’re assessed on successfully completing weekly activities, including your contributions to discussion posts and applied case study projects (based on real-life scenarios). These activities are marked using a proficiency scale, and your instructor provides you informal feedback in the live sessions.

While you’re not assessed on your attendance of the live sessions, we encourage you to attend these classes, so you don’t miss the opportunity to learn and interact with your instructor and other participants. All sessions are recorded in case you miss one.
